![]() Upgrades wise, I'm gonna miss the old AAGM2, as it really makes AA ship builds really good since combined with AFT, you can have a 7km range on your long range Aura, making most AA ships able to fire on aircraft that were spotting them. My money's on it becoming a compensation premium for those that had CVs before this rework. US CV captains are going to get mega cucked with the addition of Yorktown, meaning that anyone that is currently grinding for Essex, will have to grind through Yorktown now, instead of Lexington Saratoga, whereas IJN CV players benefit in that if they have Hiryu, they can comfortably transition to Taiho, skipping Shokaku entierly.Īlso, from the looks of it, Bouge is going to be removed from the tech tree entierly. I can see a few problems with this: first the xp required to move from tier to tier will be enormous, as your skipping a whole tier to reasearching a ship 2 tiers higher than the one you're on (the grind from Lexington Saratoga to Midway will take a VERY long time for example) To compensate for the lack of odd-numbered tiers CVs, they're going to have 2 CV lines per tech tree. They changed it to CVs are in even-numbered tiers (Tier IV,VI,VIII,X) only, meaning that their matchmaking is simplified, reducing queue times. I was happy they're doing a lot of testing and listening to feedback and all that, but now that they've showed us how they want to revise the tech tree, I'm all but confused in their intentions. Latest news on CV rework from WoWs website makes me a bit worried in the direction they're going with it.

This means that patients either have to avoid too much activity, or risk becoming breathless and exhausted quickly," writes Gizmag. On the outer surface, the synthetic organ is partially made of cow tissue to reduce the likelihood of complications such as blood clots, which are common when fabricated materials come in contact with the blood. "Most other artificial hearts, by contrast, beat at a constant unchanging rate. It quickens or slows the blood flow based on the person's activity. It therefore describes a mindset of balancing optimism with realism. The Stockdale Paradox combines facing into the current situation, and appreciating that it may be very difficult, while also holding on to the faith that a positive outcome is still possible. It is named after James Stockdale, a former candidate for US vice president, high-ranking naval officer, and Vietnam Prisoner of War for seven years. It is a really useful theory for leaders to consider when facing challenges, as many are in the current environment. The Stockdale Paradox illustrates how optimism can be balanced with realism to achieve successful outcomes. One theory which helps explain this is the Stockdale Paradox, made popular by the book ‘Good to Great’ by Jim Collins. They take time to understand their environment and spot all the possible pitfalls, which ultimately makes them better equipped to avoid them. ![]() Optimists, while hoping for a positive outcome, are more realistic. I therefore feel that it is not as grounded in reality as optimism, as it seeks to quash anything that could be perceived as negative. The dictionary definition of optimism is ‘hopefulness and confidence about the future or the success of something’ while positivity is ‘the practice of being, or tendency to be positive or optimistic in attitude.’ Although adopting a positive mindset can help us get through difficult times, it tends to focus purely on mind over matter - thinking positive thoughts and banishing all negative ones. Many people won’t have considered that there is one, but there is a subtle difference, and understanding this can help leaders develop the right mindset and attitude for success. I find it very interesting to examine the difference between optimism and positivity. ![]() Since hail can cause the rainfall estimates to be higher than what is actually occurring, steps are taken to prevent these high dBZ values from being converted to rainfall. While the radar is out of service, adjacent radar stations will be available for forecasters, including the terminal Doppler weather radar at Bush Intercontinental Airport and Hobby Airport. Partly because of its common use by television meteorologists in on-air weather reporting, the specific term 'Doppler Radar' has erroneously become popularly synonymous with the type of radar used in meteorology. ![]() Hail is a good reflector of energy and will return very high dBZ values. The US Weather Bureaus first experimental Doppler weather radar unit was obtained from the US Navy in the 1950s. These values are estimates of the rainfall per hour, updated each volume scan, with rainfall accumulated over time. Depending on the type of weather occurring and the area of the U.S., forecasters use a set of rainrates which are associated to the dBZ values. The higher the dBZ, the stronger the rainrate. Typically, light rain is occurring when the dBZ value reaches 20. The scale of dBZ values is also related to the intensity of rainfall. The value of the dBZ depends upon the mode the radar is in at the time the image was created. ![]() Notice the color on each scale remains the same in both operational modes, only the values change. The other scale (near left) represents dBZ values when the radar is in precipitation mode (dBZ values from 5 to 75). One scale (far left) represents dBZ values when the radar is in clear air mode (dBZ values from -28 to +28). Each reflectivity image you see includes one of two color scales. The dBZ values increase as the strength of the signal returned to the radar increases. So, a more convenient number for calculations and comparison, a decibel (or logarithmic) scale (dBZ), is used. Reflectivity (designated by the letter Z) covers a wide range of signals (from very weak to very strong). "Reflectivity" is the amount of transmitted power returned to the radar receiver.
